The children's university programme at Lea Forest has been specifically designed to provide a broad range of clubs and activities to encourage children to participate in learning beyond the classroom.
Aims:
How does it work?
In the same way as attending any university, children earn credits across the year. They can do this by attending one of our after school clubs, or completing all homework and reading tasks set by their teacher/s.
This system promotes good attendance both in clubs and school as well as a commitment and determination to work towards long term goals.
Rewards and Graduation
At the end of each club’s termly block, children are awarded a certificate for their attendance.
To graduate at Level 1, children need to earn 10 credits
Level 2 = 25 credits
Level 3 = 40 credits
Level 4 = 55 credits
Level 5 = 80 credits
As children reach the higher levels, such as level 4 and 5, they are awarded with a small award and wear a mortar board for the ceremony. Parents are invited in for the attendance and graduation ceremonies. For some of our children in KS1, they will work on these awards throughout their school life, aiming to graduate at a higher level by the time they reach Year 6.
Clubs can be booked via our online form. Please click the button below to see the avaliable clubs for this term.
