Reception and Year 1
Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA): Done in the first 6 weeks of starting Reception. It checks early math, language, and communication. It has no pass or fail.
Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP): Done by teachers at the end of Reception. It measures overall development across 7 areas.
Phonics Screening Check: Done in June of Year 1. Children read 40 real and made-up words to check decoding skills. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Results: Usually sent to schools in July and shared in end-of-year reports.
Year 2
Key Stage 1 (KS1) Tests: Optional tests at the end of Year 2. Schools choose whether to run them to support teacher assessments.
Year 4
Multiplication Tables Check (MTC): Done in June of Year 4. An online, 25-question check on times tables up to 12. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Results: Usually sent to schools in July and shared in end-of-year reports.
Year 6 Key Stage 2 SATs: Taken in May under formal exam conditions.
Subjects tested: Reading, Maths (arithmetic and reasoning), and Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Writing is assessed by teachers.

During the academic year children from Year 2 - 6 will participate in our trust's online teacher assessments to assess progress and attainment in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Results and progress information will be shared with parents at our parent consultation meetings in the autumn and summer terms.
