Safeguarding is the responsibility of all adults and especially those working or volunteering with children.
Lift Lea Forest is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children, young people and staff. We expect all of our staff and visitors to share this commitment.
We have a legal duty to care for all the children that attend the academy and will always refer to Social Services and our partner agencies if we are concerned about the well being or welfare of any child.
If you have any concerns that a child is being harmed, at risk of harm or receive a disclosure (intentionally or unintentionally) then you must inform the Assistant Principal Ms Wale or in their absence a member of the DSL team.
All of the academy staff have been trained and follow the Birmingham Area Children Protection Procedures and the Academies Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy is made available to all staff, volunteers and governors.
We have a suite of policies relevant to safeguarding. Here is a link to our statutory information including safeguarding and online safety policies.
Everyone is Equal
Lift Lea Forest is committed to treating all members of our community equally. The school follows the Equality Policy and objectives of Lift Schools, which is evident in the day to day practice in the academy and integrated into all other policies. We have a zero tolerance policy towards racism and all incidents will be investigated and the school policy followed.
LLea Forest has a dedicated E-safety officer and our network of computers and mobile devices is protected by several measures to ensure that your child has a safe environment in which they can learn. Children are taught skills in their ICT lessons that promote data security and E-Safety awareness, we focus on making children aware of who they can talk to and how they can deal with cyber bullying as part of their PSHE and IT curriculum.
Our policy is available on the academy website. Parents are advised to contact the academy if they have any concerns about their child's use of technology either via the main office or via email itsupport@liftleaforest.org
More information on E-safety and the safe use of technologies can be found here. All staff have been trained on how to report safeguarding and technical concerns, such as if:
