Now rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted, the Kitts Green school has been named as one of the top 10 primaries by the Sunday Times' Parent Power Guide of 20,000 primary schools in Britain
In 2014, Lift Lea Forest Academy in Birmingham was rated as 'requires improvement' by Ofsted inspectors who said pupils 'struggled to read confidently or spell words correctly' due to 'not being taught to use phonics'.
Today, the Kitts Green school is rated as 'outstanding' and has been ranked as the one of the 'top 10 primary schools in the UK' in The Sunday Times' Parent Power Guide for 2026, making it among the best of around 20,000 primary schools across Britain.
The primary league tables are based on a school’s recent performance in SATs English, Mathematics and grammar tests taken in Year 6.
